We dream of building an environmentally friendly home in the country that is
mostly if not totally self-sufficient. This book has found itıs way into
our library as a great reference to all things related to building an
environmental friendly home. It covers a great variety of building methods
including straw bale, rammed earth, cob, cordwood, adobe, earthbags,
papercrete, earthships, and others. It also includes sections on making
energy from solar, water and wind power including water heating. It also
includes information on environmental friendly building materials and also
appliances. A must read if you thinking of working this direction on your
next home or that home that is at the back of your mind.
I plan on construction a straw bale studio with composting toilet, and solar
energy for the bulk of my studio power, so this is a great resource for me.
