What works for aleviating menstrual cramps?
THE RESPONSES:
When all else fails, chamomile tea, warm socks, hot water bottle, blanket and good book. I also use oil of evening primrose, limit caffeine and carbohydrates and drink lots of water. No scientific research to back that up - I just find it helps. Also I use my cloth pads rather than my keeper on the days I'm having cramps (usually the first two days).
Crampbark,Motherwort,Chamomile,Red Raspberry,Ginger,Angelica Root.Either as tea, tincture or tablet (depending on availability).Find the one or combo that works for you.
Homeopathic Mag Phos 6x worked well for me during the few months I had periods between kids! Before my 1st pregnancy I used (ugh) ibuprofen--about 600mg at a time (horrible, awful cramps). I found that 2-3 doses of the homeopathic remedy worked just as well. The only thing is, it's not preventative. You have to wait until the cramps kick in, then take the remedy. But it's pretty fast after that. I got relief within a few minutes.
I've had the same experience!
